Our Mission:

Hotels.com/CondoSaver.com is committed to becoming the Travel Industry’s premier distribution system of quality vacation rentals on the Internet.

Dear Travel Partner,

Thank you for your interest in Hotels.com/CondoSaver.com.  Enclosed please find information explaining our program and services, and how it can impact your business – the vacation rental business!

The popularity of the “vacation rental experience” has exploded in recent years and continues to soar.  Currently, there are four times more people planning a condominium, suite, villa or home vacation rental than those planning to take a cruise.  This tremendous growth has spurred virtually every major hotel chain to enter the suite and villa market.

The missing piece to the puzzle is the link between these unique customers and you – the vacation property.  We complete the puzzle by utilizing an extensive and diverse inventory of quality vacation properties to supply an unparalleled and massive distribution network of more than 25,000 website affiliates, including Yahoo, AOL and Travelocity.

If your company is interested in maximizing occupancy in this profitable, rapidly growing – yet untapped – travel category, then we would like to talk to you.

Thank you for considering Hotels.com/Condosaver.com.  We look forward to hearing from you soon.

CondoSaver Overview

·        Headquartered in Dallas, Texas, the company was founded as Hotel Reservations Network in 1991 with the simple concept of a toll-free number service by college friends and now partners David Litman and Robert Diener.  Following the introduction of its first website presence back in 1995, Hotels.com soon evolved into the Internet’s leading provider of discount hotel accommodations worldwide and supplier of hotel lodging during sold-out periods. The company has assumed a major leadership role in the competitive lodging sector by directing volume business through a targeted list of high traffic, popular destinations with locations throughout North America and Western Europe.  Today, the company has multiple call centers, a staff of more than 1,000 and markets over 225 major U.S. and international cities through the Internet.

·        Further growth has been fueled by the extensive marketing distribution provided by Hotels.com’s 25,000 plus website affiliates and major portal partners.  With its May 1999 acquisition by USA Networks Inc., the company entered a new phase of growth and expansion.  In addition to the infinite marketing opportunities presented by the Internet, we now reach millions of potential lodging customers through USA Network’s diverse lineup of companies including Home Shopping Network, City Search, Ticketmaster and the USA Network reflecting more traditional media channels of communication.  Although the company has yet to maximize its revenue and profit potential in the hotel category, it is currently well positioned to introduce ancillary travel products and services that both complement and further accelerate lodging sales.  The new millennium has brought to the forefront an emerging alternative accommodation lifestyle appropriately referred to by many as the “vacation rental experience.”  With the information to follow, we will present the factors and vision behind our entry into the tremendous, untapped vacation rental market.  In December 2000, Condosaver.com was launched with the realistic goal of establishing itself, as with the hotel category, as the travel industry leader in servicing the vacation rental segment.  During the second quarter of 2002 the company changed its name from Hotel Reservations Network to Hotels.com to better reflect our core lodging product.

Management Team

David Litman – CEO

Dave Litman brings more than 15 years of travel-related experience, as well as marketing and management expertise to his role as co-founder and CEO of Hotels.com, a USA Company (NASDAQ: USAI).  Dave is instrumental in the company’s online success as he oversees the company’s Internet and call center operations.

Dave has spearheaded the company’s growth both on the Internet with unique Internet marketing programs, and the development and maintenance of its award-winning, state-of-the-art websites, as well as its 400-plus person call centers with their sophisticated, multi-million dollar automation systems.

Prior to co-founding Hotels.com in 1991, Dave worked for the Dallas law firm of Johnson and Swanson.  Wanting to fulfill his entrepreneurial spirit, he seized upon the opportunities the discount airline business had to offer.  He began his travel industry career in 1984 with what became a multi-million dollar wholesale airfare consolidation operation.  Six years later, Dave and Bob saw the untapped potential in the hotel industry for wholesale brokers and the two founded Hotels.com.

Today, Hotels.com is the country's leading hotel consolidator service and its Internet operations, which premiered in 1995, are among the most successful on the worldwide web.

Robert B. Diener – President

Bob Diener, president and co-founder of Hotels.com), a USA Company (NASDAQ: USAI), has propelled the company into being the Internet’s primary source of discount accommodations worldwide and the country’s leading hotel consolidator.  With more than 15 years experience in the travel industry, Bob was a pioneer in the hotel consolidation industry and is now leading the way in the explosive e-commerce market.

After receiving his law degree in 1982 from Cornell Law School, Bob served as an attorney in the world-renowned law firm of Gibson Dunn & Crutcher in Los Angeles.

From there he joined his Cornell Law School friend, David Litman – HRN’s CEO – and the pair started an airline ticket consolidation business.  As a consolidator, Diener would contract and purchase blocks of tickets at a discount from the airlines and pass on the savings to travelers.  They soon realized there was an even greater potential in the hotel industry for consolidators and the same principals were applied when the partners founded Hotels.com in 1991.

Under Bob’s direction, the company has forged long-lasting relationships with its hotel partners as well as with its more than 25,000 Internet affiliates including many of the Internet’s major travel sites.

As a leading travel industry expert, Bob is a frequent source for news organizations including the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, New York Times, and CNN as well as a recurrent guest on hundreds of major radio stations across the country including WOR, WGN, WSB, WBZ, KGO, KSL and KLIF.

Vacation Rental Rating Guide

One Star

Although extremely affordable, the interior décor and exterior grounds of these rental properties often require much improvement and renovation.  Small kitchenettes and limited living space are usually the rule.  Minimal on-site amenities.  Possible interest among young single adults and couples on a tight budget where cost not value, is the overriding factor.

Two Star

More spacious accommodations accompanied by a kitchenette or full kitchen.  Limited on-site services and amenities.  While the rental units may be clean and located in a nice, safe area, the resort may still require a facelift and some refurbishment.  At one time, the resort may have set the standard, but today it may not have kept up with consumer expectations.  Adequate but minimal perceived value.

Three Star

Property types extend beyond condos to include townhouses, villas, and vacation homes.  Units can be counted on to be spacious and comfortable.  In room amenities may be more diverse and could include extras such as a TV with VCR, washer/dryer, and bathroom Jacuzziå.  Property may fall in the category of either a quiet, non-commercial setting without on-site management or a full-service environment with hotel-related services and amenities.  Regardless of their personal interests and preferences, renters can still rely on consistent quality and good value.

Four Star

An above average resort with exceptional accommodations and possible on-site recreation.  Very spacious units often featuring professionally decorated interior designs.  Resort grounds nicely landscaped, pleasant and appealing reception area, and quiet efficient services.  Everything perceived as picture perfect resulting in a high recommendation even for the most discriminating vacationer.

Five Star

World class, ultimate quality and offering the highest level of personal services.  This type of property may range from a self-contained destination resort where you do not even have to leave the property to play golf or tennis to a breathtaking hillside villa with a private pool, impeccably landscaped grounds, and a personal cook and maid.  Beautiful units, fabulous décor, and numerous owner extras and services.  The accommodation of choice for those who wish to be pampered and who seek out only “the best.”
